Mensuration- Rhombus question

 Q) The perimeter of Rhombus is 146 cm & one of its diagonals 55 cm. Find other diagonal and area of rhombus ?

Solution

 Let ABCD be the rhombus.

We know Perimeter of rhombus is 4* side

Therefore, AB   =  146/4 = 36.5 cm

AO = 55/2 = 27.5 cm

We can see that the diagonals are making 90 degree angle.

using Pythagoras theorem BO =  √ 36.5^2 - 27.5^2 = 24 cm

hence other diagonal is 48 cm.

so, area = 1/2 * 48 * 55 =  1320 sq. cm.
