Subject Verb Agreement Rules

 Asked in most of the exams is an important topic.

Rules

  1. Noun + & + Noun = Verb (plural)  : eg. Ram & Shyam are friends
         exception: If 2 nouns are joined by & but used as a single unit = verb (singular)
         eg. Peanut butter & jelly is my favourite sandwich.
 
     2. Noun + as well as/in addition to/no less than/ with/along with/ together with/ unlike but/ besides                /like + Noun = Verb (as per 1st subject). Eg. I no less than you am to be blamed for this issue.

     3. Not only/ Neither/ Either + Noun + but also/ nor/ or + Noun = Verb (as per 2nd subject)
         Eg. Neither the student nor the teacher is going for excursion.
